About Typbar -PFS (Typhoid Polysaccharide Vaccine IP)

TYPBAR-TCV is a vaccine used for the prevention of Typhoid. Typhoid is a bacterial infection caused by a Gram-negative bacterium Salmonella typhi species. Typhoid infectionn is characterized by high and prolonged fever, fatigue, loss of hunger, abdominal pain and rash. Typhoid can lead to serious complications, like prolonged high fever that can last for weeks or months. Typhoid fever can be treated with antibiotics although increasing resistance to different types of antibiotics is making treatment more complicated. Although Typhoid is a serious infection, but it can be prevented by immunization. Clinical studies have shown TYPBAR-TCV is well tolerated and highly efficacious for subjects between 6 months to 45 years of age.
Common side effects of Typhoid vaccine are pain, redness, or swelling at place of injection, fever, headache, and muscle pain.
